FHO femoral head osteotomy procedure for an animal that has a dislocated hip that has gone untreated so long it can't be put back in the socket or if that part of the bone is broken and left untreated.
Here are a few examples where PHPCC paid for vet services to care for animals.
This "Yellow Girl" lab was sent to the shelter with a badly dislocated hip. PHP paid for the surgery to fix the hip so thst she did not have to lose her leg or be euthanized. She has recovered well and is in a lab rescue.
This is Gus, who came in to the shelter with a huge tumor on his neck. Gus is very sweet, loves everybody and PHPCC paid the vet bill to have the tumor removed and he is now ready for his forever home. If you are interested you can visit him at the Carteret County shelter on Hibbs Road.Mimi had a huge mammary gland tumor removed; Unfortunately she was going to be turned in to the shelter since the owners could not afford the surgery.
PHPCC paid to have Shoal's leg fixed with a FHO procedure(femoral head osteoectomy. This is when the head of the femur is removed rather than amputating the whole leg). She was also spayed.
